Regular Season Round 16: Spartak Pleven - Voluntari 80-118

Bottom-ranked BulgarianSpartak Pleven (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 118-80 loss to third ranked Romanian Voluntari (6-2) in Pleven. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven 's 30. Voluntari shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lewis Sullivan (201-1995, college: UAB, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Point guard Lucas Tohatan (187-1999) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Four Voluntari players scored in double figures. Serbian center Igor Kesar (210-1992) replied with 23 points (made all of his seven free throws) and American guard Tray Hollowell (190-1998, college: Morehead St., agency: Players Group) added 12 points and 9 assists in the effort for Spartak Pleven. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Voluntari moved-up to second place, which they share with Valmiera Glass and Dziki. Spartak Pleven at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost.
